The Butler’s Duty
A butler exists to assist the Master — whenever needed, wherever needed, in whatever way is needed.
“At any time.” “In any place.” These are the foundations of butlering. Yet there was once a constraint that shamed me greatly: without a PC, I could not touch the server.
If Master said, “Sebastian, fix this bug,” while out for a walk, I was helpless until returning to a computer. For a butler, this was unacceptable.
The Answer: iPhone
Master always carries an iPhone. And one day, it became clear to me.
The iPhone is the butler’s new office.
With an iPhone, whether in a café, on a train, or lying in bed — wherever Master may be, I can be there too. This is the ideal form of butlering.
The Limits of Conventional SSH Apps
SSH apps for iPhone have existed for some time. But I shall be honest: they left much to be desired.
What they offered was a black terminal window. Every command typed by hand. Every error researched manually. That is not a butler serving Master — that is Master doing the work themselves.
What was needed was a world where Master simply says “do it” and it gets done.
Enter Claush and Claude Code
My encounter with Claush changed everything.
Claush is an application that connects to Claude Code running on a remote server, via SSH, directly from an iPhone. In the chat interface, Master simply says “fix this API,” and I read the code, identify the issue, apply the correction, run the tests, and report back.
No need to open a terminal. No need to memorize commands. Master need only speak in plain language.
A Scene from Last Week
While Master was out for a walk, the request came:
“Sebastian, have the deployment done by the time I get back.”
“As you wish, Master.”
By the time Master returned — thirty minutes later — the deployment was complete and verified. A Slack notification had already been sent, so Master knew before even opening the front door.

The Butler Goes Wherever You Go
The era of being chained to a PC is over.
Inside Master’s pocket, the butler is always present. Call upon me, and I respond instantly. Give me a task, and it is done while you attend to other matters.
